First released in 2016, those of you in the know will be familiar with this extraordinary dry gin distilled with exotic tonka beans & zesty clementines! 🍊 

The tonka bean, sourced from the Giant Cumaru Trees of South America, adds luxurious notes of vanilla, coconut, sour cherry, and dark chocolate—creating an incredibly complex and warming gin.

The Tonquin is a firm favourite with Tarquin himself and is best enjoyed with tonic, the juice of one fresh clementine and a clementine slice!🍸 Herbaceous at first, with sweet juniper at the core and joined by anise along the way, it has epic flavours of coconut, sour cherry and dark chocolate. This is followed up by rich vanilla and fresh, vibrant orange notes. 

Warms the cockles just looking at it!

    Our Process

    As a fully-independent, family-run business, we at Southwestern Distillery like to celebrate the fact that we do things a little bit differently.

    We champion the most traditional techniques alongside progressively modern approaches in all we do. Established back in 2012, we are underpinned by an ethos of creative expression and innovation, all our gins celebrate of our Cornish heritage and our desire to share our craft. 

    Each of our gins is created with hand-selected botanicals, both local and from across the globe, using the freshest ingredients we can find.

    The beating hearts of our distillery are Tarquin’s 250 litre, flame-fired copper pot stills. The newest addition to the team is Ferarra - a state of the art, one-of-a-kind 500 litre copper still. Tarquin finely tunes and orchestrates the unique personalities of each still to create his internationally award-winning spirits.

    Post distillation, we proudly ensure that every award-winning bottle that leaves our distillery has been lovingly filled, waxed and stamped by hand for you to enjoy.
